A+ Citizenship Probation/Dismissal Appeal Process
Students and parent(s)/guardian(s) may appeal an A+ disciplinary decision using the following process:
Students and parent(s)/guardian(s) will have 15 calendar days to appeal a decision that is made dealing with discipline or probation using the A+ Appeal of Citizenship form available from the A+ Coordinator.
Within 10 days of receiving a written appeal, the A+ Coordinator will convene the A+ Citizenship Review Committee. The parent(s)/guardian(s) and student must appear in person before the committee for the appeal to be considered.
The A+ Coordinator will act as facilitator and a non-voting member of the Citizenship Review Committee. After the committee reaches a decision, the A+ Coordinator will notify the parent(s)/guardian(s) by letter within 5 calendar days. If further appeal is necessary, due process guidelines, as explained in the Mid-Buchanan R-V School District Policies, must be followed starting with the superintendent.
